Sarah and Andy. What a wedding. Totally unconventional, completely relaxed, homely, and just simply amazing. I met Sarah 'over the phone' as she excitedly told me about her and Andy's wedding in just a few week's time, how it was low key, totally relaxed, and at one of my favourite venues, Furtho! I instantly liked her and looked forward to their wedding! Being early March, and a late evening wedding I was a bit worried about timings for photos after, so Sarah happily said she and Andy would meet beforehand for some photos. I was beside myself with glee!!
I arrived super early at Furtho to snoop around and discover what new additions Robin and Linda had added to the barn. I wasn't disappointed to see a gazebo was being erected on the lake for future weddings!! (Oh my days.. note to future brides if you haven't booked a venue yet, scope this place out). It's such an amazing space with so many possibilities.
Andy arrived, straight from work! So he rushed off to get ready, and not long after Sarah arrived, excited and nervous and so happy! She looked beautiful, expecting their first baby in 4 months time, she was radiant. With her mum and sister guiding her (eyes closed!), to Andy who had his back turned, it was so emotional having them turn to face each other and see each other before anyone else had seen them. With big rain clouds looming ahead we quickly went to take some photos, though we were missing some cufflinks but didn't have time to sort that out! It was all a go go go operation!
Guests started to arrive, curious to see Sarah and Andy having some photos taken, but also beaming with smiles and just accepting it was part of their unusual amazing day. The ceremony took place for the first time ever in the barn which has just been licensed for weddings, and it was soo nice to be in the warm! Brilliant moment when the best man forgot Andy's ring... which resulted in eruptions of laughter from everyone and a very calm and in control registrar who simply changed the words around so there was no need to panic!
By 6pm we were losing the light fast so spilled outside to catch the amazing sun setting and a few quick group photos, and some final ones of Sarah and Andy, with the rings(!), before heading in. Fish and chips were served on the lawn, and an amazing sparkler arch to finish the night off.
It was such a fun evening to be a part of, with all the hiccups and doing things a bit back to front, I absolutely loved it. Everyone embraced the perfectly imperfect. Sarah and Andy are just the loveliest, most accommodating people I know, and I am so happy to have met them and been a part of their fantastic day! xox
