Cat & Damion's 'Wedstival'

I love the word love. I know I over use it, but I just can't help myself. I love how different weddings are, it's so exciting seeing all the details that have gone into it, that are sometimes overlooked by some. Cat and Damion had an amazing wedding day on Saturday at Furtho Manor Farm which is nestled in the beautiful countryside, with a festival theme throughout. Everything was hand made, from the bridesmaids dresses to the table decor- so much time and energy went into every last detail. They even had beautiful cloth 'C& D Wedstival' wristbands (yes I got one!! Love it!!).

I rocked up to the venue a little early and was greeted by Cat with her hair in rollers and her hand-made dressing gown (one for each of the bridesmaids, with their names embroidered!). She looked gorgeous, like an actress from the 50's with her red lipstick and striking looks. She went skipping off to the dodgems and announced she was going for a ride! (This I couldn't miss!). She then got changed into the most elegant gown I have seen, in Cat's words: 'a very ‘Botticelli’ alternative style dress, with some unusual embroidery detail'.

The rest of the day followed suit, with spontaneity coupled with mad-as-anything friends and family resulted in loads of hilarious photos and an abundance of giggles. I loved how everything was just so much fun! I even had volunteers to drive me on the dodgems so I could get some great action shots!

The ceremony was beautiful, guests were seated on haybales outside that led down to the lake, and live music was played while everyone waited for the bride. Cat was seated in a custom made carriage and carried down by her brothers. We all got misty-eyed during the ceremony when special friends and family made very emotional readings, and I think Damion's daughter Millie had everyone reaching for their hankies when she got up in front of everyone for her speech!

Following the ceremony everyone made their way into the super old historic church where cocktails were served in glass jars with stripey paper straws! Yumm-o food was served in the transformed barn, pulled pork burgers and sweet potato fries! Pudding was provided by Vintage Trikes who were dishing out made to order icecreams and toppings (which I did indulge in, Strawberry and Cream oh yes!!).

We danced away to the most amazing band Alive who did a half hour set following the first dance. I then whisked the couple off to the gorgeous hay fields for a few quieter photos and we returned to watch an amazing fire performance by Random Mike. This guy not only does mad things with fire, he spent the entire day either walking around on stilts, making crazy balloon animals (hello, spiders, Tinkerbell?! Yep), or a combination of the two! I quietly left after he dazzled everyone with crazy fire stunts after the sun had set and I as I went I could hear Alive starting up again for their next sesh.

What an awesome day; amazing weather, amazing people, amazing setting. Make sure to check out all the links at the bottom to see the creatives behind the wedding! Xx

She also decorated the jars for the centre pieces, designed and made the sparkler backing, the tableplan, the table names, invites, and name cards (Seriously if you are creating your wedding, get in touch with this gal!)
