Photography Beginners Workshop

Course info:

Cost- £29

Duration – 3 hours

When: Saturday March 29th 2014, 1pm-4pm

Where: Stony Stratford, Milton Keynes

Now, this course is truly aimed at beginners.... ie those who are 'stuck on auto'. I do not recommend this course for someone who has an understanding of Depth of Field, ISO, shutter speed, and knows how to get around their camera as these are the fundamentals of this course.

An outline of what will be covered:

- basic theory on exposure (aperture, ISO, shutter speed)

- getting your camera OFF auto (gasp!)

- understand what all those buttons do on your camera (and learn some shortcuts)

- learn how to take control of focus

- getting those 'soft, blurry' backgrounds

- outdoor session to practice (unless it is pouring with rain in which case we will do indoor practice)

- time to go through photos and critique

- General Q&A

This will be a small, friendly group with a maximum of 8 students. There will be lots of hands on practice, as well as handouts and also assignments! You will also be invited to a private Facebook Group where you can share your photographs, ask questions, get ideas, etc. You will need at least an entry-level DSLR, I might possibly have one to lend so let me know if you need one (for the day!).

There will be tea/coffee and perhaps some cake if I can persuade my husband to do a spot of baking...
