I can’t believe my eldest daughter is turning 4 this week. She is no longer a baby, she is a little girl with her own dreams, thoughts, and opinions (and boy does she have them)! She is always making everyone around her laugh, and I think she will definitely be the ‘class clown’ when she starts school in September! I love her creativity and her wild imagination (we have dinosaurs living in her closet)! She inspires me to think outside of the box, and reminds me that it is important to stop and blow the dandelions (fairies, mummy). She is incredibly thoughtful and caring, rescuing ladybirds (and harbouring them in our house!), keeping a watchful eye on her little brother and sister, and giving me a hug when I need one most. She is a girly girl, forever wearing flower dresses and believing she is a pink butterflyheartbuttonstardiamond, but she is also a tom-boy, always in the muddy puddles (IN the flower dress…), picking up slugs, climbing everything and anything (and leaping 0ff fearlessly). I love her curiosity, constantly asking why and how things happen. She reminds me how special life is, exclaiming ‘Wow that’s amazing!’ to which I ask, ‘What is?’ ‘The sun, the sun is amazing mummy.’ I love how she is so brave and she puts my irrational fears into perspective. She is bold, daring, knows her own mind, yet is thoughtful and polite. She is small, but mighty. She is full of energy, constantly going at 100 miles a minute, spinning, dancing, running, jumping. She has an infectious (dirty!) laugh which always makes me laugh, even if I’m trying to tell her off. She is a daydreamer, a warrior; I never have to worry about her fighting her own corner.

I can’t believe how much she has grown in such a short space of time. I am sad to see her baby days behind her but so looking forward to the journey ahead of us, and holding her hand along the way. I know, whatever her age, she will always be my little girl. xx
