Kate and Dan { wedding }

September 26, 2016  •  1 Comment

I was excited about Kate and Dan's wedding and returning to the stunning Horwood House with all its nooks and crannies and amazing gardens. I wasn't so excited by the rain when I opened my bedroom curtains though... especially as the day before had been glorious! However, my happiness grew as I approached the mansion and I raced against the dark grey clouds. I was delighted to find Kate getting ready and completely calm, and I had a good wander around the house and found my way into the wedding reception room. Kate had told me their theme was 'discreetly Disney' so I was really excited and had an idea in my head of what to expect, but it wasn't how I pictured it at all. It was so much better! Kate had made EVERYTHING (her disney font style handwriting was spot on!), and all the little details were just such a wonderful addition that all came together to finish off the room. Her spotty red shoes paired with happy yellow sunflowers, and the quirky red spotty bridesmaid's dresses all just worked so beautifully together.

Moments before the ceremony with everyone taking their seats and the rain pattering outside, the sun just suddenly came out, super bright and beaming in through the window-lined room. Kate followed the flower girls and bridesmaids, and the room was so emotional. I love the ceremony part. I try really hard not to cry, though I always well up with tears. Theirs was no exception. Afterwards we all gleefully spilled outside to bright sunshine and enjoyed the amazing outside space the house had to offer.

I was super delighted to be reunited with one of my lovely wedding couples Taz and Steve, and it just made me feel like I belonged there. I am so very lucky that almost every wedding of mine is connected to another wedding in some way, it just makes each wedding feel like family.

The day continued with everyone smiling and having a really good laugh, Kate and Dan were super chilled and just wonderful to be with. I loved every minute of their wedding, and wish them such a wonderful happy future together. Thanks for having me xx

As expected photographs were spot on. Sadly I missed the wedding as I was in hospital in Newcastle looking after my son but seeing the photos you captured the theme beautifully. I only wish they could do it again! I bet they do to. Thank you Laura. X
