When I met Gemma and Michael it wasn't long before the conversation turned towards their pooch Emma and how she might possibly be a part of the wedding. Hold the phone... what?? Oh yes she just HAD to be there I was just so incredibly excited!! Being a dog lover myself and a new owner to my own little four legged bundle of fluff I was just beside myself with joy. Even if they didn't book me for the wedding I probably would have turned up!
On the day, they were so down-to-earth, cool and relaxed. The skies stayed dry for a few hours and then the clouds decided to do their thing and start on the rain. But it didn't dampen the day in the slightest. The venue was set at the beautiful Barton Hall in Kettering with its grand Grade II listed stature and stunning grounds. The ceremony was held in the most amazing Orangery which was flooded with light from the huge ceiling windows. I spent a few hours with Gemma getting ready and then found the boys for some photos, and just as we were getting ready to do some group snaps we spied Emma arriving, and she was beside herself with excitement! She made a bee-line for Michael (and happily threw herself over all the lovely morning suits...! mud brushes off...) but it was wonderful having her there.
When the guests were seated, Gemma came down with her bridesmaids and when she spotted Emma it was so emotional! She cried, I got misty-eyed, Emma was wondering what all the fuss was about! It really was special having her there. The ceremony was beautiful, though I do think Emma stole the limelight a little. We enjoyed photos and drinks in the Orangery then spilled into the beautiful wedding breakfast room for amazing food and great speeches. After the feast, I took Gemma and Michael back to the orangery for some special photos, and out in the rain (by this point it was coming down very hard!). I am thankful to their friend that came along to help me out! It was so worth the wet.
I loved this wedding. A brilliant finale to a brilliant wedding year. Each wedding I have grown and learned so much, and I am so thankful to everyone who put their faith in me to capture their special day. It brings me so much joy to share that moment with you.
Gemma and Michael (and of course, Emma), I wish you so much happiness and love. Xx
