My face ached by the end of Taz and Steve's VE day wedding from smiling and laughing so much! The day started off a bit drizzly and grey but arriving to see Taz and the girls getting ready and it was a burst of colour, from her sisters' amazingly coloured hair, to the bright red lipstick they all wore, the beautiful flowers, and the gorgeous 1940s style individual bridesmaids dresses. Every detail was based around the 1940's and it was like stepping back in time, even the guests came dressed to match the era. Everything had been made by family and friends. Taz's mum made darling tea cake towers from vintage plates served an afternoon tea style wedding breakfast, which were later sold off to raise money for Spina Bifida, a cause so close to Taz and Steve's hearts. Steve's mum made their amazing wedding cake, which tasted delicious, and Taz added her own creative touches including a beautiful wooden signing board with a calligraphy 'G' crafted from string which took her and a friend two days (and two bottles of prosecco!) to make. Guests were escorted from the magnificent Villiers Town Hall in Buckinghamshire in a red double decker bus to the Cruck Barn in Bradwell Abbey which was all decked out with union jack flags, tea saucers with mini sandwiches and cakes, and fairy lights. The skies were clear for us and everyone enjoyed blue skies and sunshine and games outside.
Awesome, awesome day.
