I first met Sarah-Jane at a mutual friends house getting ready for a night out. I was taking photos as we were all getting ready, and Sarah-Jane said if she ever got married she'd love me to take photos for her. A few months later she got herself engaged to her lovely boyfriend Richard on Christmas Day!!! I soon had a message asking me to be their photographer and I was just so excited!!!
I went round to meet Richard and have a cup of tea while they excitedly told me their plans, and introduced me to Crunchie (I was a bit disappointed I wasn't being offered a chocolate treat, instead though met their gorgeous house bunny). They drove me to the idyllic church in Duston and then we went off to Highgate House with its amazing Baronial Hall and sweeping garden.
On the day of the wedding I arrived to a house full of women getting ready and sipping champagne and it was all just so chilled. No stress, just calm vibes all round. I was immediately hugged by SJ's lovely mum and everyone just made me feel so at home. The dress was a big secret, so while they were all having their eyelashes glued on I went outside, completely rearranged all the furniture and precariously tip-toed on a wobbly garden chair to balance SJ's dress in the guttering!! I wish I could see your face Sarah-Jane as you read that! :)
Getting to the church was a tad stressful as my satnav took me to a hospital instead but luckily for me the residents of Duston are extremely nice and I was given directions by several pedestrians to find the church. I got there in plenty of time to grab some shots with the boys and scope out the gorgeous church grounds. It was a beautiful ceremony, and everyone was dabbing their eyes as Richard and Sarah-Jane beamed at each other.
I had forgotten how spectacular Highgate House was, and the rest of the day unfolded smoothly and everyone had a great time. I managed to get everyone outside for the group photo despite a bit of drizzle and by the time we had finished it was lovely and dry again.
A big thank you to Sarah-Jane and Richard for having me on their special day, it is always such a joy to see such happiness between two people shared with those they love. I was super excited to grab that last shot by the tree just as I was leaving, it was the perfect end to a perfect day.
lots of love and happiness to Mr and Mrs Castle xxxx
